Hp Elitebook Folio 9470m Wifi Drivers
I have a Folio 9470m with Windows7. I have huge problem with access to wifi networks independently its encryption method. Normally I can access to network but only with 'limited access' status (no internet access).
When I checked details then I realized that the router didn't provide IP address. It is happening with all the wifi networks that I tried, and I know there is no problem with the router as I was able to login from other devices. I tried several things (updating wifi drivers, switching off firewall, etc) but none of them worked. What interesting is that one time I was able to enter the network.
I don't know why. It just happened by chance. Phpmydatagrid Professional there. Immediately I copied all the settings (ex.

Since then I am able to use that specified wifi network but I am still not able to enter all the other ones. As only one time I was succeeded, I suppose there could be some timeframe that notebook uses for getting informations from the wifi router.
I suppose this timeframe is too small, but I am not an expert.just wondering. Do you have any idea? Drivers Hp Compaq 6820s Windows 10 there. Thanks in advance. BR Christian. Home routers are not always reliable.
When in encounter problems like yours, i always power off (unplug) the wifi router for a few seconds and let it power on again. You did not mention you did this. The wifi router has dhcp and provides ip addresses to connecting computers, both hardwired and over wifi.
You can do some simple troubleshooting on the 9470m (which should have no problem with wifi) by using a CMD window and typing 'ipconfig'. This should show what has the dhcp server in the router provided to the laptop. You can do 'ipconfg /release' and then ipconfig /renew' to see if the wifi card is getting an address from the router. Originally I rised the issue and finally, after long fight there is a solution.
My problem was created Firewall setting. If you disable firewall than it should work. But you cannot live without Firewall. Therefore a guy from our IT department found that Firewall doesn't let PC to receive IP address. He deactivated this setting. Only he could do it because there is needed a special access right.
I hope it helps for you as well. Daren wrote: I'm having the same problem and have also updated all drivers. It appears that both the wifi and lan can't seem to get a dhcp address. I've also had this happen on mulitple networks so it's not the router. Any assistance would be appreciated.
